Gwendolyn received her primary education from Sumner Public Schools and graduated from Sumner High School, with the class of 1950.
The family moved to VanNuys, California, and Gwen found work as a bookkeeper at a local grocery store.

Gwen and Clifford also enjoyed traveling in their camper to different Square-Dancing events throughout the United States.
In 2000, the couple began to make their home in Kearney. Gwen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kearney. She also enjoyed volunteering at The Archway, along with her husband.
