H. Dale Sostad

H. Dale Sostad, 89 years of age, of Holdrege, died on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home in Imperial, Nebraska. Dale was born on December 14, 1935, in Marshall County, Minnesota, near Holt, Minnesota, the youngest child born to Christ and Gertrude (Jasper) Sostad.  He was raised and graduated high school in Minnesota. Following graduation he pursued higher education.

On January 31, 1955, Dale enlisted into the United States Army at Fargo, North Dakota.  As a decorated veteran, he obtained  the Parachutist Badge, was a Marksmen (Carbine), an Expert sub-machine gun badge, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was stationed in Germany while in service. His honorable discharge was on January 16, 1958.

Dale had four children:  J., Jon, Dea Jane, and Samantha. Dale owned and operated Sostad Insurance and Associates, in Holdrege.  He enjoyed hunting and outdoor activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Dea Jane Sostad in 2001; and his siblings.

Dale is survived by his children:  J. Sostad and his wife, Brandy of Castorville, Texas; Jon Sostad and his wife, Angela of Kearney, Nebraska; and Samantha Sostad of Mesa, Arizona.

A private visitation will be held, followed by cremation.
