A Graveside Service and Inurnment for Henry A. Newman, Jr. will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Westlawn Cemetery, Grand Island, Nebraska.
Henry Alfred Newman, Jr., 85 years of age, of Bertrand, Nebraska, formerly of Kearney, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at the Bertrand Nursing Home. Henry was born on October 1, 1940, at North Loup, Nebraska, one of ten children born to Henry Alfred, Sr., and Martha (Kosmicki) Newman. He lived and received his education in the area and then moved to Kearney for services.
Henry was with Mid-Nebraska Individual Services in Kearney for most of his life. He worked many jobs, including: window cleaning at Pizza Hut; a box assembler at The Buckle; and custodial services at the movie theatre.
He was a member the Knights of Columbus.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Darrell Newman, Kenneth Newman, and Roland Newman; and three sisters: Henrietta Wegrzyn, Ellen Smith, and Rosella Newman.
He leaves to celebrate his life: his guardians, Jerome and Barbara Einspahr of Kearney; two sisters: Kat Newman and Carolyn Townsend; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
There will not be a visitation, viewing or memorial book signing the evening prior to the service. He will be cremated.
Memorials are kindly suggested to the family to defer costs.
