Iola E. Anderson, 71 years of age, of Funk, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. Iola was born April 28, 1938, north of Alma in Harlan County, Nebraska, the eldest of five children of Roy and Almeda (Covey) Lonn. She was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Church. She graduated from Arapahoe High School with the class of 1956.

On October 20, 1956, she was united in marriage to Jesse J. Anderson at Funk and to this union four children were born: Debra, Diane, Donna and Douglas. Iola devoted her time to raising their children and supporting her husband, Jesse with his repair shop and farming.

Iola was a member of the Fridhem Lutheran Church in Funk. She taught Sunday school and Bible school for many years and was very involved with many other church and community activities. Iola found great joy in life being of service to others. Her compassion and empathy knew no bounds. She loved spending time with family, friends and making new friends wherever she went. She also enjoyed photography, bird watching, going to the Nebraska football games with Jesse and family members, and doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She'll always be remembered for her unfailing faith, putting other's needs well before her own; her kind heart and her special love given to all. On March 18, 2008, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her three daughters: Debra Wagner and her husband, Mike of Eagle, Nebraska, Diane Rager and her husband, Alan of Holdrege and Donna Goldsberry and her husband, Tim of Lincoln, Nebraska; one son, Douglas Anderson and his wife, Carma of Funk; ten grandchildren: Pat Wagner and his wife, Katie, Nicole Eddins and her husband, Justin, Stephanie Kolbo and her husband, Ryan, Todd Wagner, Christopher Rager, Makaela Wagner, Kristin Goldsberry and Shana, Tiffany and Jacob Anderson; four great-grandchildren: Hailee Wagner, Sophia Kolbo, Adelynn Anderson; and Holden Wagner, three sisters: Daphna Stagemeyer and her husband, Paul of Arapahoe, Nebraska, Vivian McDorman and her husband, Charles of Funk and Patty Baumann and her husband, Don of Denver, Colorado; brother-in-law, Leonard Anderson and his wife, Gwen of Funk; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Jason Stroup; brother, Spencer Lonn; and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Joseph and Helen Anderson.
