A Funeral Service for James W. "Jim" Moseley, Sr. will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Loomis, Nebraska, with Pastor Mike Szekley officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Bertrand, Nebraska with Military Honors provided by the Bertrand Veterans Group in conjunction with the United States Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team.

James William "Jim" Moseley, Sr., 80 years of age, of rural Bertrand, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege.  Jim was born in rural Ohio County, Kentucky on November 19, 1945, the 3rd of 3 children, born to Robert and Lorrena (Ralph) Moseley.

Jim attended and graduated from Union High School in 1963.  During his school years, Jim was active with baseball.  He pursued higher education in Tool & Die Classification Classes through Chrysler Corp. Following his education, Jim began working for Chrysler Automotive as a Field Engineer.

On December 12, 1965, Jim was inducted into the United States Army in Detroit, Michigan. He was stationed at Ft. Hamilton, New York and later transferred to St. Louis, Missouri.  On the December 13, 1971, Jim was honorably discharged.

On February 2, 1976, Jim was united in marriage to Catherine Beach at the Court House in Rochester, Michigan. The couple lived in Michigan for 21 years before making their home in Bertrand, where they enjoyed rural living. They were blessed with five children: Mike, Matt, Jim, Larry, and Rob, and enjoyed 50 years of marriage.

Jim was a member of the Multi Lakes Conservation Association in Michigan and was very active, spending countless hours working within many Pheasants Forever Community Chapters.

He will be remembered for his stern but caring heart and willingness to do anything for anyone.

Jim was preceded in death by, his parents; his brother, Bob Moseley; sister, Rena Fay Pinnick; and In-laws, Delbert and Grace Beach.

Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Catherine Moseley of rural Bertrand; their children: Mike Gray and his wife, Kris of Daytona Beach, Florida; Matt Gray and his wife, Shawna of Brighton, Michigan; James W. "Jim" Moseley, Jr. and his wife, Theresa of Johnson Lake, Nebraska; Larry Gray and his wife, Diana of Commerce Township, Michigan; and Rob Moseley and his wife, Amantha of Cozad, Nebraska; Sixteen grandchildren: Ryan, James, Amber, Haylie, Aleasha, Amanda, Mackenzie, Alyssa, Abigail, Correy, Josie, Lea, Cyrus, River, Delanna and Breanna; Eleven great-grandchildren: Aurora, Alex, Harper, Sophia, SJ, Josie, Jaxon, Scottlyn, Huxton, Blakelee, and Salom; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

Memorials are kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
