Funeral Services for Jane Robinson will be conducted from the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Darrel Wissmann officiating. Interment will be in the Highland Cemetery at Bertrand, Nebraska.
Jane Robinson, 68 years of age, of Kearney, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Jane was born November 27, 1943 at Kearney, Nebraska, the fourth of six children born to LaVerne and Virginia (Juhl) Nelson. She attended and graduated, Valedictorian from Axtell High School with the Class of 1962. Jane later attended Queen Anne's Beauty School in Kearney, Nebraska.
On August 13, 1962, Jane was united in marriage to Allen Joseph Robinson and to this union seven children were born: Mark, Wade, Patricia, Brian, Angela, Kirk and Robin. The family made their home in Lexington and Aurora, Nebraska, where Jane focused on raising their children. They later became residents of Bertrand, where the family engaged in farming.
In later years, Jane's passion was her grandchildren's activities. She loved to drive around to check her farm ground.
Jane was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bertrand, Nebraska. Jane also enjoyed painting, listening to music, sewing quilts and mending clothes. Jane retired from Becton Dickinson in Holdrege after 14 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen in 2005; son, Brian in 1987; brothers: Jerry Nelson and Bob Nelson and sister, Joyce Vahle.
She leaves to mourn her passing; her three sons: Mark Robinson and his wife, Gretchen of Omaha, Nebraska, Wade Robinson and his wife, Vicki of Wichita, Kansas, and Kirk Robinson and his wife, Charline of Kearney; three daughters: Patricia Freeland and her husband, Mark of Holdrege, Angela Robinson of Holdrege and Robin Schutt and her husband, Ken of Grand Island, Nebraska; ten grandchildren: Nathaniel and Brianna Robinson of Elkhorn, Tyler Robinson and his wife, Amber of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, Trevor and Ashley Robinson all of Wichita, Rachel Robinson and Brittany Vokovan both of Holdrege, Ruger Schutt of Grand Island, and one on the way in December, Jillian Robinson of Kearney, and Carlos Estrada of Kearney; brothers: Jim Nelson and his wife, Dora of WaKeeney, Kansas, and Don Nelson and his wife, Mary of Hildreth, Nebraska; one brother-in-law, John Vahle of Lincoln, Nebraska; two sisters-in-law: Nancy Grapes and her husband, Jim of Kearney and Bonnie Nelson of Axtell, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Jane will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
A memorial has been established in her memory and kindly suggested to the family at this time.
