Graveside Services for Janet I. Spencer will be conducted from the Moses Hill Cemetery in Phelps County, NE on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Murray Jones, officiating.

Janet Irene Spencer, 59 years of age, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2009 in Ohio. She was born August 2, 1949 in Holdrege, Nebraska, the daughter of Harold Arthur and Violet M. (Hendricks) Spiker. Janet graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1967, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She then pursued higher education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, graduating in 1971, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Jan was united in marriage to Bernard T. Spencer on August 12, 1972. She was involved with figure skating, was an assistant Fitness Director and Aerobics Coordinator with the Sawmill Athletic Club from 1982-2002 and was a member of Grace Church of Powell, OH.

She leaves to mourn her passing her mother, Violet M. Spiker of Lincoln, NE; her husband, Bernard Spencer of Columbus, OH, cousins: Carmen Guarill of Lakewood, CO and Kent Hendricks of Ft. Collins, CO; step-daughter, Julie Spencer; step-son, Richard Spencer; grandchildren: Oliver, Erin and Toby all of Worthing, England; sister-in-law, Ranko Wilson of London, England and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Arthur Spiker.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the Grace Church of Powell at 7600 Liberty Rd., Powell, OH 43065, with Pastor Rick Nuzum, officiating.

A memorial has been established in Jan's memory and kindly suggested to the Grace Church of Powell, Ohio.
