Jason C Wilcox

Celebration of Life service for Jason C. Wilcox will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Anthony Krones officiating.  A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

Jason Cory Wilcox, 46 years of age, of Alma, Nebraska (formerly of Holdrege) passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 at his family home in Holdrege. Jason was born May 19, 1970 at Lincoln, Nebraska, the eldest of four children born to Gilbert and Ina (Brestel) Wilcox. He received his education from Holdrege Public Schools and graduated from Holdrege High School with the class of 1988. Jason then pursued higher education from Kearney State College.

Following his education, Jason began a long career in food service. He was employed by C & D Bottles, Phelps Memorial Health Center in the cafeteria for several years, and in recent years at Chrisoma West in Holdrege.

In September of 1996, Jason was blessed with his only son, Christopher Judson Carter. During their time together they enjoyed fishing, lighting fireworks, and most importantly just being together. In 2000 he was united in marriage to Amy Marvin and the couple resided in Alma.

When Jason was young he enjoyed Boy Scouts, and loved camping, canoeing, tubing, and fishing.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother, Ina in May of 2011.

He leaves to celebrate his life; his son, Chris Carter of Kearney, Nebraska; his father, Gil Wilcox of Holdrege; two sisters: Maggie Rief and her husband, Jason of Omaha, Nebraska and Patty Maring and her husband, Brian of rural Atlanta, Nebraska; one brother, Doug Wilcox of Omaha, Nebraska; 14 nieces and nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

There will be no visitation, the family is honoring Jason's wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Jason's honor and will be designated at a later date.
