Memorial Services will be held for Jean Ruth (Pedley) Robinson at the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege, Nebraska on Monday, January 29, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Heather Shoup, officiating. Private Family Interment will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege prior to the Memorial Service.

Jean Robinson, 84 years of age, of Lincoln, Nebraska, (formerly of Holdrege) passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at the Monrach Hospice Center in Lincoln after a long courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. Jean was born on December 2, 1922 in Gosper County, Nebraska to Edgar S. and Laura (Moores) Pedley. She received her education from Bertrand High School, graduating with class of 1940.

On June 13, 1943, she was united in marriage to Meredith Darr Robinson and to this union three children were born. She and her husband owned Robinson Motor Company, the Buick, Pontiac, GMAC dealer in Holdrege for 35 years. Jean was a loving wife and mother, was an active member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church and active in the Holdrege Community.

She is survived by three daughters: Linda Layton and her husband, Tom of Durham, North Carolina, Peggy Kelley and her husband, Michael of Omaha, Nebraska and Pam Schumacher and her husband, Craig of Lincoln; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister, Elizabeth Mahlin of Prineville, Oregon; brother, Edgar A. "Jim" Pedley and his wife, Rita of Marysville, Washington; two sisters-in-law: Kay Pedley of Lincoln and Mary Renzelman and her husband, Gary of Lock Haven, Pennsylvania and special friend, Ken Bordeaux of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Eunice Whitehead and her husband, Daniel; two brothers: Richard "Bud" Pedley and his wife, Ruth and Theodore "Ted" Pedley and brother-in-law, Willis Mahlin.

There will be no visitation, the casket will be closed.

Memorials may be sent in her name to the First Presbyterian Church of Holdrege or The Monarch Hospice Home in Lincoln.
