Jean Ann Williams

     A memorial service for Jean Williams will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska. 

     Jean Ann Williams, 100 years, of rural Funk, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at the Holdrege Memorial Homes. She was born June 18, 1926, the youngest of three children, to Mark John and Nettie Frances (Cobb) McClymont.  She was baptized at the Presbyterian Church in Holdrege and received her education from Holdrege Public Schools, graduating in 1945.  Jean then attended Kearney State Teachers College. She taught for a year in Cambridge, Nebraska. 

     On August 15, 1947, Jean was united in marriage to Fredrick Royal Williams in Holdrege. The couple made their home in Borger, Texas for a year. They then moved to Holdrege, until they relocated to the rural Williams family Homestead farm near Funk, Nebraska. 

     Jean was a loving wife and mother of four children; Peggy, Sue, Francie and Janet. During these years, she was employed at J.C. Pennys in Holdrege. After their retirement, they built a home in Estes Park, Colorado and they alternated living in Colorado and Nebraska. Fred preceded Jean in death April 7, 1997. 

     Jean enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, sewing, volunteering for the community, helping others and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the Methodist Church, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. 

     Jean leaves her four daughters: Peggy Hayes of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Sue VaughnWilliams and her husband, Mike of rural Funk; Francie Clark and her husband, Tom Clark of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Janet Goldrick of rural Oxford, Nebraska; eight grandchildren: Ben Clark; Jean Clark; Alexa Tralla; Marcus Tralla; Anna Polen, (J.P.); Kate Cowdery, (Josh).; Mike Vaughn, (Lynette); and Brian Vaughn, (Stephanie); seven great grandchildren: Zoe Clark; Sierra Clark; Zack Clark; Hayden Cowdery; Xavier Vaughn; Jake Vaughn; and Ally Gochanour; two great-great grandchildren: Caden and Scarlett; in addition, several nieces and nephews. 

     Besides her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by her in-laws, Fredrick Royal Sr. and Anna (Carlson) Williams; siblings, Florence "Mac" Rickard and her husband, Donal Rickard Sr.; and Robert McClymont and his wife, Mae; two sons-in-law: Ed Goldrick and Dan Hayes; niece, Jean Ann Davidson; and nephew, Donal "Rick" Rickard Jr. 

     A private family viewing was held and the family is honoring her wish for cremation.
