Funeral Services for B. Jeanne Anderson will be conducted from the Trinity Lutheran Church in Axtell, Nebraska on Friday, November 6, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Harold Laursen, officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Axtell.

Barbara Jeanne Anderson, 87 years of age, of Axtell, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2009 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege, Nebraska. She was born February 13, 1922 at Holdrege, Nebraska, the fifth of six children of Roy and Ethel (Taylor) Moore. She was baptized in the Methodist Church. Jeanne received her education in Holdrege, graduating from Holdrege High School with the class of 1939.

On October 22, 1939 she was united in marriage to Kenneth N. Anderson in Holdrege. To this union three daughters were born: Deanna, Carol Sue, and Kathy. They made their home on a farm north of Axtell until 1964, when they moved to their current home in Axtell. Jeanne and Kenneth were devoted to each other for 70 years of marriage.

Jeanne was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Axtell, where she was actively involved in the music and ladies circles. Jeanne played the piano for various choirs and Sunday services and was requested by many soloists throughout the years. She enjoyed many friendship bonds through the years as a member of the H.O.A. Club (Help-One-Another) for 50 years. She was also involved in several card clubs including: Bridge and Somerset. She and her husband also enjoyed traveling together with friends, going numerous places including: Hawaii, Mexico, Texas, Florida, Arizona and on a cruise. Her many hobbies included: crocheting and sewing, playing the piano and organ, golfing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her Swedish rye bread will be remembered by all family members and friends.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Kenneth of Axtell; three daughters: Deanna Bergstrom and her husband, Gayle of Wilcox, Carol Reed and her husband, Larry of Summer Haven Lake, Nebraska, and Kathy Weis and her husband, Darrel of Kearney; seven grandchildren: Brent Bergstrom and his wife, Cindy of Wilcox, Holly Artz and her husband, Brent of Wilcox, Jill Guthrie of Hildreth, Nebraska, Stacy Teter and her husband, Larry of Ogallala, Nebraska, Mark Olson and his wife, Michelle of Omaha, Dawn Anne Heeren of Hampton, Nebraska, Brett Weis and his wife, Kristy of Kearney; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; one brother, Delbert Moore of Holdrege; brother-in-law, Bruce Anderson and his wife, Laurene of Holdrege; sisters-in-law: Muriel Kardell and her husband, Kenneth of Dixon, Nebraska, Elna Bragg of Holdrege; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Lisa Weis; sisters: Maggie Erickson and Irene Hedberg; brothers: Robert Moore and Newt Moore and sister-in-law, Ruth Peterson.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Axtell on Thursday, November 5, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

A memorial has been established in her memory and kindly suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Axtell.
