A celebration of life service for Jeannine M. Jensen will be held at a later date.
Jeannine May Jensen, 88 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away, on July 7, 2024, at Holdrege Memorial Homes in Holdrege. Jeannine was born in Lewiston, New York on March 20, 1936, the eldest of three daughters, born to William and Kathlene (Covington) Hager. She received her education from Lewiston Public Schools in Lewiston, New York, and later attended and graduated from Lewiston High School, with the class of 1954. Jeannine pursued higher education at Kearney State College receiving her master's degree in Art Education.
During Richard's service in the Korean War, he met the love of his life, Jeannine May Hager, and the couple was united in marriage on March 3, 1956, in Lewiston and to this union, three children were born: Guy, Charlene, and Keith.
The family made their home in the Nebraska Sandhills for some time before settling in Loomis in 1973. Jeannine was employed as an Art Teacher at Loomis Public School.
Jeannine loved art and spent lots of time making pottery, weaving, drawing, and oil painting. She enjoyed going camping, playing dominoes, and going to coffee with her friends and Jeannine was an avid reader. Through everything, she never complained.
She was a member of the Atlanta United Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege, and most recently attended chapel at Holdrege Memorial Homes.
Jeannine was preceded in death by her husband, parents; one sister, Lois Ward and her husband, Wally.
Jeannine is survived by three children: Guy Jensen and his wife, Eva of Orchard, Nebraska; Charlene Jensen of Holdrege; and Keith Jensen and his wife, Patricia of Boise, Idaho; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Laurel McMannus and her husband, Arthur of Rochester, New York; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
There will be no viewing or visitation. The family is honoring Jeannine's wish for cremation.
Memorials in Jeannine's honor are suggested to the Atlanta United Methodist Church.
