Funeral Services for Jerry L. Marquis will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at Christian Homes Chapel at Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Jean Clayton officiating.  Casual attire is requested for the service.  Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege.

Jerry Lee Marquis, 68 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019 at Bryan Medical Center East Campus in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Jerry was born December 10, 1950 at Norton, Kansas, the second of four children born to William C. "Bill" and Doris D. (Clason) Marquis. He attended Holdrege Public Schools.

Jerry loved music; his favorite genres were country and rock and roll; and playing name that tune.  He also enjoyed looking at books, playing BINGO, and playing cards. He was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Beaver City, Nebraska.  Jerry will be remembered for his great belly laugh that made you giggle with him.

After the passing of his mother, Jerry began to make his home at "his bachelors pad", at Christian Homes Care Independent Living and later Christian Homes Care Community.

He was preceded in death by; his parents; brother, Steve Marquis; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Jerry leaves to celebrate his life; his siblings:  Janet Ashley and her husband John of Holdrege; and Nancy Pillen and her husband, Todd of Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister-in-law, Cindy Marquis of Lincoln, Nebraska; nephews and nieces:  Bradley Ashley and his wife, Tammy of Holdrege; Linette Chewey and her husband, Lee of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Tami Ashley and her husband, Jeff DeWitt of Lincoln, Nebraska; Lisa Neil and her husband, Russ of Adams, Nebraska; Jaime Watson and his wife, Miranda of Lincoln; Jennifer Trevarrow and her husband, Brandon of Lincoln; Shane Marquis; Justin Marquis; and Kyle Marquis and his wife, Celia all of Lincoln; 12 great-nieces and nephews: Jared Ashley; Jessica David and her husband, Brett; Johnathan Neil and his wife, Charrissa; Kaylee Chewey; Seth Chewey; Hannah Neil; Zach Ashley; Jacob Neil; Camden Trevarrow; Anniston Trevarrow; Nolan Watson; and Myles Watson; one great-great niece, Kollyns David; and two great-great-nephews:  Barrett David and Malcolm Neil; along with many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Christian Homes Chapel.

A memorial has been established in Jerry's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
