Memorial Services for John B. Kuhl will be conducted from the Orleans Evangelical Church in Orleans, NE on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Murray Jones officiating. Private family burial will be held prior to services at the Orleans Cemetery in Orleans, Nebraska.
John Brian Kuhl, 50 years of age passed away on Monday, December 15, 2008 at his home in Orleans, Nebraska. John was born on April 7, 1958 in Alma, Nebraska, the fifth of seven children of Jess Bernard and Wilda Bernice (Delimont) Kuhl. He attended school in Orleans and graduated with the Orleans High School Class of 1976.
He was employed by Becton-Dickinson in Holdrege for 22 years before starting his own business. He owned and operated Uncle John's Restaurant in Orleans, NE since 2001. He loved to spend time there talking with everyone who passed by. John was a fun and caring guy; he loved to joke, and always had a listening ear.
He enjoyed reading, nature and traveling. John loved the town of Orleans. He was a member of the Orleans Evangelical Free Church, where he served as a deacon and a co-chairman. He was also a member of the Orleans Chamber of Commerce.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his three brothers, Ralph Kuhl and his wife Carol of Boulder, CO, Art Kuhl and his wife Gwen of Grand Island, NE, and Bernard Kuhl and his wife Denae of Kearney, NE; three sisters, Theresa Nelson and her husband Dan of Orleans, NE, Janice Magnuson and her husband Darin of Kenesaw, NE, and Sharon Woeste and her husband Mitch of Blue Hill, NE; as well as several nieces nephews other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Wilda Kuhl.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials are suggested to the Evangelical Free Church of Orleans or to the Orleans Public Library.
