Private family graveside services and inurnment for Johnnie L. Gipe will be held at the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege, Nebraska.

Johnnie L. Gipe, 66 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center at Holdrege. Johnnie was born March 28, 1946 at Beaver City, Nebraska, as one of twin boys born to Eddie and Maxine (Wright) Gipe. He received his education from Beaver City Public School.

Following his education, Johnnie made his home in Hastings and later settled to Holdrege. Johnnie loved his family and made many special friends throughout his lifetime. He treasured these special bonds. Johnnie had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his dog, Wonder who was his best friend in life. He also loved the great outdoors and visiting with his friends.

He leaves to mourn his passing; his nephew, Toby Spaulding of Holdrege; good friend, Jack Sishc of Holdrege; and a host of other relatives and many, many great friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Ronnie Gipe; sister, Donna Forsberg and her husband, DeWayne, niece, Karen (Forsberg) Spaulding; and a host of other friends.

There will be no visitation, the family is honoring his wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in his memory.
