A private family memorial graveside and inurnment for Jon C. Turner will be held at the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege, Nebraska; due to health concerns with COVID-19.

Jon Carl Turner, 59 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 24, 2020, at CHI Health-Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska.  Jon was born on June 7, 1960, in St. Joseph, Missouri, one of four children, to Jack E. and Myrna G. (Halpain) Turner.  He received his primary education from Syracuse Elementary School, Washington Elementary School in Holdrege and later attended and graduated from Holdrege High School, with the class of 1979.

Following his graduation, Jon moved with his family to Salisbury, Missouri. Soon after, in 1980, Jon enlisted into the United States Navy.  He served from 1980 through 1984 when he was honorably discharged.

Following his discharge, Jon returned to Nebraska where he worked in the trucking and road construction industry.  Jon enjoyed spending time with friends and family.  He loved to camp, fish, trap and enjoyed shooting his black powder guns.

Jon will be remembered for his ability to make friends everywhere he went.  He had a robust and infectious laugh that once heard could never be forgotten.  His wink meant he loved you, and he winked often.

He was preceded in death by; his grandparents; sister, Janet Gail Schievelbein; his father, Jack Turner in 2017; and other family members.

Jon leaves to celebrate his life; his mother, Myrna Turner of Holdrege; two sisters:  Kelly Henry and her husband, Larry of Holdrege; and Becky Neemann and her husband, Craig of Lincoln, Nebraska; many nieces and nephews; two aunts:  Sharon Turner of Lake Ozark, Missouri; and Darlene West of St. Joseph; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

There will be no visitation, the family is honoring Jon's wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Jon's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
