Jonathon D. Chandler

A funeral service for Jonathon D. Chandler will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Kenton Birtell officiating. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege, Nebraska, with Pastor Tom Thompson officiating.

Jonathon Dale "Jon" Chandler, 39 years of age, of Loomis, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025, at his home. Jon was born in Holdrege on June 23, 1985, the second of three boys born to Roger and Lana (Swanson) Chandler.  He was baptized at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege. Jon received his education from Loomis Public Schools and graduated from Loomis High School with the class of 2003. He pursued higher education and received a Business Management Degree from Peru State College in Peru, Nebraska.

Following his education, Jon worked at Cargill, Landmark, and at Aurora Coop at the time of his passing.

Jon was united in marriage to Carissa Sievers and to this union, two daughters were born: Carsyn and Payton. The couple made their home and raised their daughters in Kenesaw, Nebraska. Jon was engaged to Jessica Miller, and they enjoyed camping together.

He enjoyed golfing, kayaking, hunting, and fishing. He loved spending time with his daughters and attending their sporting activities. Jon and his brother, David, enjoyed setting up and lighting many large fireworks displays.

Jon was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church where he was active on the safety committee.

He was preceded in death by his brother David Chandler; his grandfathers: Rodney Swanson; and Edsel Chandler.

Jon leaves to celebrate his life his parents, Roger and Lana Chandler of Loomis; two daughters:  Carsyn and Payton Chandler of Kenesaw; his fiancé, Jessica Miller of Loomis and her children Alex, Janice, and Elaina; one brother, Eric Chandler of Loomis; grandmothers:  Agnes Chandler of Elwood; Nebraska; and RoseAnn Swanson of Holdrege; uncles:  Robert Chandler of Smithfield; Brad Swanson and his wife, Jana of Manhattan, Kansas; Rory Swanson and his wife, Mary of Manhattan; and Kelly Swanson and his wife, Barb of Alma; aunts: Corinne Reiss of Smithfield; Shirley Terry and her husband, Mark of Denton, Nebraska; and Linda Minarick and her husband, Ted of Morse Bluff, Nebraska; along with many cousins, extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Jon's honor at First State Bank of Loomis.
