Joyce Elizabeth Bush, 92 years of age, of Rogers, Arkansas formerly of Republican City, Nebraska, passed away, on April 3, 2025, at Circle of Life Hospice in Rogers. Joyce was born on the family farm in Harlan County, Nebraska, on January 21, 1933, the third of five children, born to Eugene Gottloeb "Ike" and Beatrice Louise (Stanton) Schippert. She received her education from Republican City Public School and graduated with the class of 1951. She attended one year of college at the University of Nebraska in Kearney, Nebraska.

Following her education, Joyce worked at the Republican City Bank. Later, she worked at Sears in the catalog department customer service, and then as a secretary for the University of Nebraska Agricultural Department and as a secretary for Montana State University-Northern in their science department.

On May 23, 1954, Joyce was united in marriage to Chuck Bush at the Methodist Church in Republican City. Together they enjoyed over 70 years of joyful marriage.

Joyce loved cooking and baking; gardening; sewing; crafts; playing bridge with friends and other couples; visiting her family and having them visit. She and Chuck participated in bowling and golf leagues, ballroom, and square dancing while living in Lincoln, Nebraska. Joyce volunteered for Woods Chapel United Methodist Church in Lee's Summit, Missouri delivering welcome baskets, helping with the Prom Boutique, and serving as a greeter with Chuck. She started a couples' bridge group and participated in Dinner for 8. Joyce also volunteered for 14 years at the Information Desk at St. Luke's Hospital in Lee's Summit. More than anything, she loved being a wife, mom, and grandma; dedicating her life to the needs and welfare of her family, while being available to help at any time. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Beatrice Schippert; and her older brother, Jim Schippert.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Chuck Bush of Rogers; four children: Cheryl (Bush) Schmidt and her husband, Donn of Rogers; Kevin Bush and his wife, Annette of Keller, Texas; Kerry Bush and his wife, Karen of Wildwood, Missouri; and Todd Bush and his wife, Teri of Lee's Summit; 12 grandchildren: Reed Schmidt and his wife, Maya; Garret Schmidt and his wife, Grace; McKaela (Schmidt) Smith and her husband, Adam; Evan Bush and his wife, Michelle; Julia Bush and her fiancé, Ian Wilson; Sarah (Bush) O'Bryan and her husband, Will; Hannah (Bush) Rodgers and her husband, Trent; Ryan Bush; Phillip Jordan and his wife, Elizabeth; Nathan Bush and his wife, Abby; Lauren Bush; and Stephen Bush; seven great-grandchildren: Simone, Nora, and Walter Schmidt; Oakley, and Charlie O'Bryan; Sage Rodgers; and Bea Jordan; one brother, Rich Schippert and his wife, Julie of Republican City; two sisters: Vera Losey of Republican City; and Val DeBerard and her partner, Larry Gilman, of Twin Falls, Idaho; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
