Julie M Nyberg

Funeral Services for Julie M. Nyberg will be conducted from the Loomis Evangelical Free Church in Loomis, Nebraska on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Tom Thompson, officiating.  Interment will be held in the Moses Hill Cemetery, northeast of Loomis in Phelps County, Nebraska, following the service.
Julianne Marie "Julie" Nyberg, 74 years of age, of Loomis, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, Nebraska.  Julie was born August 18, 1944 at Holdrege, Nebraska, the only child born to Curtis Gustaf and Esther Marie (Carlson) Lindstrom.  The family made their home on a farm north of Holdrege, where her father engaged in farming, until moving to Loomis in 1960.
Julie was confirmed at the Moses Hill Evangelical Covenant Church northeast of Loomis.  She received her education from the Loomis Public School, where she graduated from Loomis High School with the class 1962.
Following her education, Julie went to work for the ASC office in Holdrege, until Dr. Harold Bowers began a dental practice in Holdrege, where she was a dental assistant.  Julie continued to work for Dr. Bowers until he closed the office in 1966.
On October 24, 1964, she was united in marriage to Larry L. Nyberg at the Moses Hill Evangelical Covenant Church and to this union three children were born:  Michelle, Michael, and Kurt.  The family made their home in Loomis, where Julie focused her efforts on caring for the needs of their children, supporting their activities, and providing a loving home for her family.  After the children were older, Julie enjoyed providing housekeeping for several families in the Holdrege area, and also provided in-home child care for Dr. Tom and Shirley Smith for several years.  Julie used this income to help further her children's education.  In her retirement years, Julie continued caring for others in need with great empathy as a Visitation Hostess at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home for twenty years, retiring in January of 2018.  She loved her job, caring for grieving families.
Growing up Julie was a member of the Moses Hill Evangelical Covenant Church, until transferring her membership to the Loomis Evangelical Free Church, where she was an active member as a substitute Sunday school teacher, served as a Deaconess in the church, and enjoyed her involvement with the Women's Missionary Society for many church functions.  In recent years, Julie also enjoyed her involvement with her Bible study at Trinity Church every Wednesday morning.
Those who knew Julie will remember her love for her family; as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother; and her concern for others with a caring demeanor.
Besides her parents; Julie was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law:  Ed and Elna Nyberg; and brothers-in-law:  Dennis and Daryl Nyberg.
Julie leaves to celebrate her life; her husband of 54 years, Larry Nyberg of Loomis; her three children:  Shelly Lavalleur of Bellevue, Nebraska; Mike Nyberg and his wife, Destiny of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Kurt Nyberg and his wife, Joni of Mesa, Arizona; son-in-law, Robert Lavalleur of Bellevue; six grandchildren:  Kelsey Herbener and her husband, Jake; Leighton and Turner Nyberg; and Ryan, Kinsey, and Emily Nyberg; great-grandson, Frank Robert Herbener; brother-in-law, Robert Nyberg and his wife, Carrie of Lincoln; sisters-in-law:  Ardell Day and her husband, Ron of Tampa, Florida; DeLane Sharp of Lincoln; and Carol Wagner of Chestertown, Maryland; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
