A funeral service for June Steinbrink will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Holdrege Methodist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor George Probasco officiating. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery, Holdrege.

June Frances Ann Steinbrink, 92 years of age, of Holdrege, died on Monday, September 25, 2023, at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. June was born on June 27, 1931, in Holdrege, one of seven children, to Elihu and Ethel May (Henry) Hubbard.  She attended Holdrege Public Schools graduating with the class of 1951.

On June 16, 1951, June was united in marriage to Lloyd Henry Steinbrink at the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege.  The couple began to make their home in Holdrege where June stayed home to care for their six children:  Belinda, Gail, Judy, Michael, Marsha and Tera.  She later worked for the Holdrege Elementary School with the lunch program.  She enjoyed seeing the children through the week.

June was a member of the Holdrege Methodist Church and was active with the United Methodist Women's Society.  June loved to care for her grandchildren, canning, and collecting bells.  She also sold Avon for several years.  She enjoyed following Husker volleyball.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lloyd in 2007; her siblings:  Eunice Hubbard at birth; Donald (Dorothy) Hubbard; Laura Hubbard; Iantha (John) Journey; Flossie (Keith) Green; Betty (Francis) Swanson; and Ford (Vera) Hubbard; two nephews:  Bruce Swanson; and Gary Hubbard; and two sons-in-law:  Harold Mellick; and Jerry Kehr.

Survivors include her children:  Belinda Mellick of Lincoln, Nebraska; Gail Kehr of Hastings, Nebraska; Judy Steinbrink of Holdrege; Michael Steinbrink and wife, Mary of Omaha, Nebraska; Marsha Steinbrink of Holdrege; and Tera Breinig and husband, Warren of Holdrege; seven grandchildren:  Jeff Mellick; Tim Kehr; Andy Kehr; Melissa (Bryant) Allen; Sydney Breinig; Dalton Breinig; and Emma Steinbrink; two great-grandchildren: Emery and Mattias Allen; her half-brother, Delano Nelson of Holdrege; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to7:30 p.m.

Memorials in June's honor, are kindly suggested to the family for future designation.
