Junetta Rosa Miska, 90 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at the Christian Homes Care Community at Holdrege.  She was born on May 27, 1929, in rural Phelps County, south of Atlanta, Nebraska, the only child to John Clayton and Etta M. (Cress) Murray.  She attended rural schools in Harlan and Furnas Counties for her primary education, and then graduated from Mascot High School with the class of 1948.

On December 28, 1952, she was united in marriage to Richard Lee "Dick" Miska in Holdrege and to this union four children were born:  Rosalea, Clayton, Wendell and Dwight.  The family made their home in Holdrege, where Junetta focused her attention on raising her family.

In 1969, Junetta began a long career with the City of Holdrege as Office Manager for 31 years until her retirement in 2000.  After her health began to fail she began to make her home at Christian Homes Care Community in 2010.

She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege, and she and Richard were both devoted members of the Kiwanis Club for several years.  Assisting with the fund raising efforts for Kiwanis was very important to them.  Junetta was also a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and attending their activities was always important to her.  Junetta was an excellent cook who enjoyed providing wonderful meals for her family.  They enjoyed traveling, and made several trips to California to visit family.  If not every year, the family would travel to California every other year to help work in the rice fields with their family.

Besides her parents; Junetta was preceded in death by two grandsons:  Andrew Miller in infancy; and Jonathan Miska; son-in-law, Cleveland Miller; brothers-in-law:  Elwood Miska during WWII; and Gerald Miska and his wife, Betty; and sister-in-law, Catherine Baillie and her husband, Earle.

She leaves to celebrate her life; her husband of 67 years, Richard Miska of Holdrege; four children:  Rosalea Miller of Lincoln, Nebraska; Clayton Miska of Kansas City, Missouri; Wendell Miska of Holdrege; and Dwight Miska of Salt Lake City, Utah; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 10, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
