Memorial Graveside Service and Inurnment for Karen L. Jordan will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Axtell, Nebraska with Reverend Daren Popple officiating.

Karen Lynn Jordan, 55 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska, (formerly of Kearney, Nebraska) passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at her home at Mid-Nebraska Individual Services in Oxford. Karen was born December 10, 1962 at Fairbury, Nebraska, the eldest of two children born to Gary Ray and Effie "Carrol" (Claypool) Jordan. She received her education from the TMR School with the Kearney Public Schools, until becoming part of the Mid-Nebraska Individual Services family in Oxford. While at Mid-Nebraska, Karen worked to fulfill various contract jobs and also did numerous cleaning jobs.

Karen loved the outdoors and the sunshine. She was often seen walking around downtown Oxford, where she enjoyed shopping and visiting with everyone. Karen knew no stranger! She loved to color, put puzzles together, and typing on her typewriter. She was fascinated with cookbooks and created her own recipe cards. Karen enjoyed watching horror movies but her favorite movie was, The Wizard of Oz. She especially enjoyed shopping and going out to eat lunch with her aunt, Cathy.

Throughout her 35 years at Mid-Nebraska, she formed many special relationships with the staff and residents, and they became her second family.

Karen was preceded in death by her uncle, Dale Claypool.

She leaves to celebrate her life, her mother, Carrol Brundige of Gibbon, Nebraska; father, Gary Jordan of Superior, Nebraska; brother, Richard Jordan of Hartwell, Georgia; niece: Cheyenne Jordan of Kearney; two nephews: Austin Jordan of Hastings, Nebraska and Dalton Jordan of Kearney; aunt, Cathy Taylor and her husband, Gerald, Sr. of Omaha, Nebraska; uncle, Darrel Claypool of Gibbon; and a host of cousins, other family members and friends.

There will be no visitation, as the family is honoring Karen's wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Karen's honor, and is kindly suggest to Mid-Nebraska Individual Services at Oxford.
