Graveside Services and Interment for Karen A. Spaulding will be conducted from the Prairie Home Cemetery at Holdrege, Nebraska on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.
Karen Ann (Forsberg) Spaulding, 49 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Karen was born December 6, 1960 at Holdrege, the daughter of Dewayne W. and Donna V. (Gipe) Forsberg. She received her education at Holdrege, and later pursued higher education at the Central Community College in Grand Island, Nebraska where she studied Accounting and Business Administration, graduating with an Associate's Degree.
Following her education, Karen worked at Grand Island in telecommunications and 1992 she returned to Holdrege, where she operated Priscilla's Motel until 2006. She then assisted her parents with operating Dewayne's Trailer Court, which she later owned and managed after their passing. On November 1, 2004, she was united in marriage to Toby Spaulding at Holdrege.
Karen had a special place in her heart for animals, loved the outdoors, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Toby Spaulding of Holdrege; uncle, Johnnie Gipe of Holdrege; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 27, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.
A memorial has been established in her memory and will be designated at a later date.
