Kash Duane Pruitt

Celebration of Life Services for Kash Duane Pruitt will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Harlan County Ag Center in Orleans, Nebraska, with Pastor Michael Bell officiating. Interment will follow at the Stamford Cemetery, Stamford, Nebraska.

Kash Duane Pruitt, 23 months and 9 days old, of Oxford, Nebraska, earned his angel wings on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at the Omaha Children's Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, following a courageous battle with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and a Heart Transplant.  He was born on June 6, 2017, in Holdrege, Nebraska, to Aaron and Lacey (Martin) Breinig-Pruitt.

Kash loved being snuggled and rocked by his mommy.  He enjoyed listening to music and being sung to.  Kash's contagious smile would light up the room; it touched the hearts of many people and will always be remembered.  He was an amazing little boy whose courage, bravery and will to live, was evident every day.  He was an inspiration to his parents, family and to everyone who knew him. Kash loved to put on a show for all his doctors and nurses; the more girls in his room the better.  Kash loved them like family.

Thank you to all of his doctors and nurses, who cared for him through all of this.  We are so very thankful for each and every one of you. Kash loved waking up super early, so he could play music for the staff during their morning cardiac rounds, or for them to just come in and play with him. He had a way of getting people into his room! Kash loved an audience; the more people, the happier he was.

We will never forget you love bug. It's not good-bye, it's until we see you again. Enjoy being healthy, playing and running free up there. Even though pieces of our hearts are missing, I know you're being taken care of up there and watching over us all. Keep the smiles coming, we love to see them!

He was preceded in death by: Herman and Francis Lubeck (maternal great-grandparents); Bertell Martin (maternal great-grandfather); F. Duane and Barbara Breinig (paternal great-grandparents); and cousin, Dillon Mroczek.

Left to cherish Kash's memory are: his parents; Aaron and Lacey (Martin) Breinig-Pruitt of Oxford; big brother, Kobyn Pruitt; grandparents: Lyle and Judy Martin of Orleans; Michael Pruitt and Wendy Breinig of Holdrege: great-grandparents: Vera Martin of Hendley, Nebraska; and Von and Shelia Pruitt of Arapahoe, Nebraska; his aunts and uncles: Georgia (Martin) Mroczek of Orleans; Roudy Martin and wife, Melissa of Alma, Nebraska;  Lincey (Martin) McDonald and husband, Troy of Loomis, Nebraska; Beau Martin and wife, Jessie of Orleans; Addison Pruitt and his fiancée, Teagon Edwards of Holdrege; and Amber Pruitt of Holdrege; along with 10 cousins; numerous other loving relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

A memorial has been established in Kash's memory, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
