Graveside Services for Katherine L. Roeder will be held on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Orleans Cemetery at Orleans, Nebraska with Reverend Jean Clayton officiating.

Katherine Louise "Kathy" Roeder, 76 years of age, of Orleans, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018, following a long battle with cancer, at Holdrege Memorial Homes in Holdrege, Nebraska. Kathy was born February 8, 1942 in Kearney, Nebraska, the third of fifteen children born to Floyd B. and Iola F. (McGinnis) Kersting.  She received her education from Kearney Public School.

On August 19, 1961, she was united in marriage to Wayne Roeder in Lexington, Nebraska.  With open arms, Wayne welcomed Kathy's three children: Mike, Pat and Allen. Together, they were blessed with four daughters: Diane, Deb, Judy and Vicky.

Kathy enjoyed spending time her family.

Kathy was preceded in death by; her parents; three siblings: Bernard Kersting; Buddy and LaDonna, as young children in a house fire; and two brothers-in-law:  Merle Wood and Darrel Roeder.

She leaves to celebrate her life:  her husband, Wayne of Holdrege;  her seven children:  Mike Roeder and his wife, Chris of Oxford, Nebraska; Pat Graf and special friend, Larry Miller of Kearney; Allen Roeder and his wife, Rita of Lakewood, Colorado; Diane Christensen and her husband, Lee of Orleans; Deb Evans and her husband, Louis of Phillipsburg, Kansas; Judy Bose and her husband, Chuck of Orleans; and Vicky Graff and her husband, Richard of Orleans; 21 grandchildren:  Cassie, April, Dusty and Brandon; Tory, John, and Travis; Pam, Amanda, Allen, Jr. and Breanna; Katy and Jesse; Josh, Adam, and Cody; Nicole, Andrew, and Clay; and Bailey and Hanna; many great-grandchildren; Kathy's siblings:  eight sisters:  Shirley Wood; Loretta Luce and her husband, Wayne; Joanne Roeder; Joyce Snell and her husband, Glen; Opal Wilson; Jean Kersting and special friend, Mike Maciejewski; Karen Stutheit and her husband, Mike; and Lois Huntsburger; three brothers:  Fred Kersting and his wife, Ruby; Bill Kersting and his wife, Helen; and Roy Kersting; along with Wayne's siblings; a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

A memorial has been established in Kathy's honor, and will be designated at a later date.
