Katrina Kaye Trenchard

Funeral Services for Katrina Kaye Trenchard will be conducted from the First Baptist Church in Oxford, Nebraska on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Jason Dowell, officiating. Interment will be in the Oxford Cemetery.

Katrina Kaye Trenchard, 20 years of age, of Oxford, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Katrina was born November 1, 1989 at Lexington, Nebraska, the daughter of Douglas A. and Peggy Jo (Stagemeyer) Trenchard. She received her primary education at Oxford Elementary and then graduated from Southern Valley High School with the class of 2008. During her school years, Katrina enjoyed sports until her heart complications prevented her from participating after the age of 12. At the age of 14, Katrina was honored by the American Heart Association as the 2004 Heart Princess for the Omaha Heartland Ball. After receiving the award, Katrina said, "I am just grateful to be alive," and "I'm living life to the fullest." Her family and friends will remember that Katrina never stopped trying to live a full and happy life.

Katrina treasured the friendships she formed throughout the years, was an avid Husker Football Fan, enjoyed music, especially playing the piano, was involved in 4-H, where she loved modeling clothes and showing sheep, and loved vacations with her friends and family. Most of all, her infectious smile and laughter will be remembered by all her family and friends.

Following her education, she was employed by The Buckle in Kearney, Nebraska, where Katrina excelled and was proud of her sales ability and accomplishments. Most recently she worked at her Aunt Susie's café, "Our Cafe," in Beaver City, Nebraska.

Katrina leaves to mourn her passing her parents: Douglas Trenchard and his wife, Zeny of Oxford, Peggy Nagy and her husband, Jason of Oxford; brothers: Seth Trenchard of Lincoln, Nebraska, Casey Trenchard of Oxford, Sam Trenchard and his wife, Lisa, of Kingwood, Texas, and Brice and Rylee Nagy both of Oxford; grandparents: Paul and Norma Trenchard of Oxford and Harold and Ethel Stagemeyer of Beaver City, Nebraska; her nephew, Nathaniel Trenchard; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

A memorial has been established in her memory and will be designated at a later date.
