A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Ken Watson will be held at the Alma United Methodist Church in Alma, Nebraska on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Mr. Zeb Swink officiating.  A private inurnment will be held at a future time.

Kenneth S. "Ken" Watson, 73 years of age, of Alma, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at his home in Alma.  Ken was born on February 5, 1951, in York, Nebraska, the only son of Roy and Irene (Ruzowski) Watson.  He was raised on a farm and attended school at Benedict, Nebraska and graduated high school with the class of 1969.   His first marriage was blessed with two daughters, and an adopted son.  Ken pursued higher education from Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska and attained an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Human Services.

On September 26, 1987, Ken was united in marriage to Kathryn "Kathy" King in Norwich, Iowa.  The couple made their home in Lincoln, where Ken worked for Dennis Supply Company as a Counter Salesman for many years.  They enjoyed many memories fishing, camping, and being outdoors at Harlan County Lake near Alma.  Following their retirement, the couple moved to Alma in 2012.

Ken enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, especially fish fries, and woodworking.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Shawnie Watson; a son, James Watson in 2014; and many aunts and uncles.

Ken is survived by his wife, Kathy Watson of Alma; daughter, Angie Watson and husband, Austin Rowland of Lincoln, Nebraska; five grandchildren:  Mercedes Sterns and husband, Oscar Munguia; Bryan Watson; Bryce Wendt; Olyvia Watson; and Malyia Watson; one great-granddaughter, Luna Munguia; three step-sons:  Adam Falk and his family of Crestview, Florida; Neil Falk and his family of Ceresco and Lincoln, Nebraska; and Tony Falk and his family of Lincoln; 3 step great-grandchildren; along with extended family members, and friends.

There will not be a visitation, viewing, or memorial book signing the evening prior to the service.  The family has honored his wish for cremation.
