Memorial Services for Kevin L. Keezer will be conducted from the First Baptist Church in Holdrege, Nebraska on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Darren Stroh officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Beaver City, Nebraska prior to the service at 8:30 a.m.
Kevin LeRoy Keezer, 43 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012 at Holdrege. Kevin was born October 8, 1968 at Holdrege, the eldest of three children born to LeRoy and Jean (Christensen) Keezer. He was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Holdrege and received his education from Holdrege Public Schools. Kevin experienced a traumatic brain injury in 1984 at the age of 15. Kevin handled the resulting disabilities with amazing faith and courage. He made friends easily and wherever he went Kevin touched the lives of all of those around him.
Kevin particularly enjoyed the Mosaic community that he was part of and loved the friendship bonds formed throughout the years. A highlight of his life was a California vacation made possible by the Mosaic program.
He enjoyed Cornhusker Football, Country Music, watching Wrestling, Bowling, and the time spent with his roommate, Scott Wells. Kevin enjoyed strong relationships in two faith communities: the First Baptist Church in Holdrege and the United Methodist Church in Huntley, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy in 1984; grandparents: Raymond and LaVerne Christensen, Jess and Evelyn Keezer, and Myrtle Clayton and an uncle, Earl Christensen.
He leaves to mourn his passing his mother, Jean Clayton and his step-father, Jim of Holdrege; two brothers: Jason Keezer and his wife, Vicky of Loomis, Nebraska and Darin Keezer and his wife, Angie of LaVeen, Arizona and their daughter, Hailey; step-brothers: Toby Clayton and his wife, Dawn of Holdrege, Jay Clayton and his wife, Angie of Dallas, Texas; step-sisters: Shawna Nelson and her husband, Clark of Funk, Nebraska and Sharla Yates and her husband, Michael of Lincoln, Nebraska; and a host of other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
A memorial has been established in Kevin's memory and kindly suggested to Mosaic of Holdrege, the First Baptist Church in Holdrege or the United Methodist Church in Huntley.
