Lana was born May 6, 1954 in Ord, Nebraska, the third of five children born to John Wilson and Berdena Euphemia (Otto) Hamer. She attended North Loup-Scotia Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1972. She then pursued higher education at the Central Technical Community College in Hastings, Nebraska, where she met the love of her life.
On July 6, 1974 she was united in marriage to Allan LaMonte Hollertz at her parent's home at North Loup, Nebraska. Through the years, she was employed by the City of Holdrege, Bee Office Supply, Hinky Dinky and then 18 years at Sun Mart grocery. She enjoyed serving as a 4-H Club leader, Camp Fire Leader and president of the local Camp Fire chapter. She kept busy attending all sporting events and activities for her daughters and grandchildren. Lana also enjoyed sewing and crafting, baking, decorating for the seasons, board games and jig saw puzzles, collecting dolls and figurines in sets of four. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Holdrege.
Lana was preceded in death by her father, John W. Hamer; mother, Berdena (Otto) Hamer; and her brother, Gregory Hamer.
