Memorial Services for Larry T. Wilbur will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Reverend Dr. W. Kirwin Stewart, Jr. officiating. Private Family Burial will take place prior to the service at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Larry Todd Wilbur, 58 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away at his home in Holdrege on Monday, April 3, 2017. Larry was born November 7, 1958, in Boulder, Colorado, the eldest of two children born to Lawerence and Donna (Heavilin) Wilbur. He received his primary education in Boulder. When he was 15 years old, his family then moved to Nebraska where he received his education from Orleans, Nebraska, Alma, Nebraska and Phillipsburg, Kansas and then he returned to Alma and graduated from the Alma High School with the class of 1977.

While still in high school, Larry was employed at Becton-Dickinson in Holdrege, where he met Dorothy "Dot" Covey. On July 16, 1977, he was united in marriage to Dot and to this union two children were born: Nicolle and Chris. The family made their home in Holdrege.

Larry was later employed at Kingsley Lumber and Central Nebraska Public Power & Irrigation District until his job injury. He then returned to school and completed his degree in computer repair and electronics. He was then employed with Elkins Computer for five years. He returned to Becton-Dickinson and worked in their IT Department, but due to health concerns, Larry retired on March 29, 2016.

Larry was a very good handyman. He loved watching Nebraska Cornhuskers Football and Denver Broncos Football with his brother-in-law, Joe, and his good friend, Scott Whitney. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, bowling, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. His greatest love was spending time with his family.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John Keslar in 2012; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces.

He leaves to celebrate his life: his wife, Dot Wilbur of Holdrege; his two children: Nicolle Vanderlinde and her significant other, Ed Gardner and Chris Wilbur and his wife, Jennifer, all of Holdrege; seven grandchildren: Jordan, Chloe, Joshua and Cambell Wilbur, Alexis and Emilee Vanderlinde and Addison Gardner; one sister, Tammy Freeman and her husband, Michael of Hutchinson, Kansas; three sisters-in-law, Jo Kirkendall and her husband, Joe of rural Oxford, Nebraska, Sue Keslar of Oxford and Kathy Barnes and her husband, Darrell of Newman Grove, Nebraska; one brother-in-law, Mike Covey and his wife, Kim of Holdrege; mother-in-law, Verda Covey of Oxford; aunt, Shirley Leigh of Boulder; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

A memorial has been established in Larry's honor and will be designated at a later date.
