Lauri Ruth Lawson

Memorial Mass for Lauri R. Lawson will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Father Rick Moon officiating. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.

Lauri Ruth Lawson, 53 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at her home.  Lauri was born August 10, 1965 in Holdrege, the fourth of five children born to Donald and Jo Anne (Lillie) Murray.  Lauri received her education from Holdrege Public Schools.

On June 14, 2002, she was united in marriage to Steve Lawson in Reno, Nevada.  Their union was blessed with one daughter, Callie; who joined big sister, Steph at home. The family made their home in Holdrege.

Lauri was a member of St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church in Holdrege.  She enjoyed bead work, puzzles, baking, spending time with her grandson, and helping at the church.  Lauri was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary and served as a past-president in 1996.

Lauri was preceded in death by her parents; close friends, Kay Johnson and Sheila Fullerton.

She leaves to mourn her passing; her two daughters:  Callie A. Lawson and her husband, Cody Gruhn of Holdrege; and Steph Murray of Emerson, Nebraska; one grandson:  Trenton Murray; three brothers, Daniel Murray; David Murray; and Mark Murray and his wife, Kari all of Holdrege; sister, Mary Jensen of Holbrook, Nebraska; along with her nephews, great-nieces, other relatives and friends.

There will be no visitation.  The family is honoring her wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in Lauri's honor and kindly to the COPD Foundation.
