Lavern Allen Hardy

Lavern A. Hardy, 60 years of age, of Holdrege, NE passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Holdrege Memorial Homes in Holdrege. Private family Memorial Services will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation as the family has honored Lavern's wish for cremation.

Lavern Allen Hardy was born on October 6, 1948 in Tacoma, Washington, to Donald F. and Ethel C. (Boch) Hardy. Lavern attended school in Tacoma and also in California, where he and his family lived for a year. In November of 1973, Lavern married Carol Sue Smith and to this union one son, Robert was born. Carol passed away in 2001. After Carol's passing, Lavern and Robert moved to Holdrege, where they could be close to family friends Cathy Spencer and her son, Jonathan.

Lavern's hobbies included: camping, reading comic books, playing solitaire, watching old science-fiction movies on TV and listening to music. He was a member of the Baptist faith and the Moose Lodge. Lavern made his career in the professional Dry Cleaning industry for many years.

Survivors include his son, Robert Hardy of Yampa, CO; brothers, Ron Hardy and William Hardy.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial has been established in his memory and will be designated at a later date.
