Graveside Services for LaVerne A. Adden will be conducted from the Oxford Cemetery at Oxford, Nebraska on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Wes Holen, officiating.
LaVerne Amelia (Ferguson) Adden, 91 years of age, of Hemet, California, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at Hemet. LaVerne was born on May 29, 1918 in a farmhouse inside the Missouri state line outside of Pittsburg, Kansas, the eldest child of Clarence and Marie Ferguson. Upon graduating from high school, LaVerne went to work for the United States Government with the FAA as an Executive Secretary (clerk) until her retirement in May of 1973.
LaVerne was married to Dale Adden in June of 1973 and upon his retirement they began traveling to nearly every state in the U.S. in their RV and spent many summers in Dale's home state of Nebraska. She was the greatest wife, sister, aunt, and friend anyone could ask for and will be dearly missed.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her younger brother, Harley and one great-great-nephew, Tyler.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Dale Adden, of Hemet; one sister, Vivian Myers and her husband, Robert of Prescott, Arizona; niece, Joyce Archer and her husband, Dan of Laveen, Arizona; nephew, Jim Myers of Prescott; one great niece; 3 great nephews; 7 great-great nieces and nephews, and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews in Nebraska.
A memorial has been established in her memory and will be designated at a later date.
