Funeral Services for Leo D. "Jack" Malone will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma, Nebraska with Pastor Dave Irwin officiating.  Burial will follow at the Orleans Cemetery, Orleans, Nebraska.

Leo Dale "Jack" Malone, 93 years of age, of Branson, Missouri, formerly of Orleans and Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Point Lookout Nursing and Rehab in Hollister, Missouri.  Jack was born October 31, 1925 in Orleans, one of seven children born to Herman and May L. (Hodge) Malone.   Jack graduated from Huntley High School, with the class of 1944.

On December 13, 1945, Jack was united in marriage to Florence Lampman in Phillipsburg, Kansas.  The couple lived in Holdrege for a short time, before moving to Orleans.  Jack worked for Burlington Northern Railroad and on the weekends, he would drive the ice cream truck.  The family always had a sweet treat to enjoy!  To this union three children were born:  Lonnie, Leota and Joyce.  Years later, the family made their home in Denver, Colorado, as Jack continued to work for the railroad.  On February 7, 1980, Jack was preceded in death by Florence.

On September 5, 1981, Jack was united in marriage to Clara Sue "Suzi" (Hinkle) Workman in Las Vegas, Nevada.  The couple made their home in Denver and enjoyed traveling and fishing together.  They later began to make their home in Lexington, Nebraska, to be near family.  On October 25, 2005, Jack was preceded in death by Suzi.

In 2007, Jack began to make his home in Branson, to be near his son, Lonnie.  He went to the Kimberling City, Missouri Senior Center every morning to drink coffee and visit with his friends.  He was a member of the ELKS Lodge, #2505, in Kimberling City.

Jack loved fishing and eating ice cream.  He also enjoyed hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives:  Florence and Suzi; grandson, Dale Alexander Gaskill; and his siblings:  Jimmy, Bud, Lee, Ilene and Johnny.

Jack leaves to celebrate his life; his three children:  Lonnie and his wife, MaryAnn of Reeds Spring, Missouri; Leota Gaskill and her husband, James of Lexington; and Joyce Girton and her husband, Steve of Rapid City, South Dakota; five grandchildren:  Lonnie Malone and his wife, Emily; Kristy DeLong and her husband, Kevin; DeWayne Jackson; Christopher Jackson; and Terry Jackson of South Dakota; nine great-grandchildren:  Kopelyn and Kole DeLong; Colton and Reese Malone; and Tiffani, John, Kylie, Randy, and Andrew "A.J." Jackson; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Polly Huff of Grand Island, Nebraska; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Bauer-Torrey & Mach Funeral Home in Alma.

A memorial has been established in Jack's honor and kindly suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
