Funeral Services for Leola E. Fahrenbruch will be conducted from the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bertrand, Nebraska on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Dale Hedstrom officiating. Interment will be held in the Highland Cemetery at Bertrand.

Leola Edna (Von Loh) Fahrenbruch, 85 years of age of Bertrand, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. Leola was born July 13, 1926 on the family farm eight miles north of Bertrand in Phelps County, Nebraska, the youngest child of Henry Albert and Clara (Holscher) Von Loh. Leola was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bertrand. She attended the Ash Grove Rural School and then graduated on May 19, 1944 from Bertrand High School.

On June 20, 1948 she was united in marriage to Raymond Fahrenbruch at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bertrand. Two children were born to this union, Douglas Paul on May 1, 1950 and La Donna Sue on July 9, 1952.

Leola cleaned homes for several families in the Bertrand area and baby sat for many of the local children. She enjoyed making quilts, rugs and doing embroidery work. For the past thirteen years, the Bertrand Nursing Home was her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Lorena Marquardt and her husband, Orvin; one brother, Melvin Von Loh and his wife, Doris; three brothers-in-law: Harold Fahrenbruch, Joe Fahrenbruch and Alfred Fahrenbruch; and one nephew, Jerry Fahrenbruch.

Leola is survived by her husband, Raymond of Bertrand; one son, Douglas Fahrenbruch and his wife, Vinnetta of Bertrand; one daughter, La Donna Kwiatkowski and her husband, Norbert of Overton, Nebraska; three grandchildren: Mike Fahrenbruch and his wife, Kim of Omaha, Nebraska, Michelle Skorupa and her husband, Patrick of Billings, Montana, and Randy Kwiatkowski and his wife, Stacey of Korea; four great-grandchildren: Forrest Fahrenbruch, Alexis Blaich, Dakotah Kwiatkowski and Brittney Kwiatkowski; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be prior to the services at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bertrand on Friday, December 30, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

A memorial has been established in her memory and will be designated at a later date.
