Leonard Dale Renken Sr

Celebration of Life Services for Leonard D. Renken, Sr. will be on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Leonard Dale Renken, Sr., 64 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 at his home. Leonard was born June 29, 1951 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Hilbert and Blanche (Urbom) Renken. He received his education from Holdrege Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1969.

Following his education, he started a lifelong passion of truck driving.

He was united in marriage to Della Gallardo and the couple was blessed with five children: Kelly, Andy, Lenny, Yolanda and Vince. The family made their home in Holdrege, where Leonard was an owner/operator of Renken Trucking.

Leonard enjoyed fishing and hunting. He could fix anything and was always involved with his trucks and semi's. Leonard enjoyed hanging out with friends and always had a story.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to celebrate his life; his children: Kelly Renken of Omaha, Nebraska, Andy Renken of Omaha, Lenny Renken of Omaha, Yolanda Marshall and her husband, Bo of St. Louis, Missouri and Vince Renken and his wife, Sarah of Fort Collins, Colorado; 12 grandchildren: Nathan, Jacquelyn and Lauren Johnson, Brayden and Cruz Renken, Ellie, Alexa and Katie Marshall, and Lainy, Maximus, London and Morrison Renken; along with many extended family and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

A memorial has been established in Leonard's honor and will be designated at a later date.
