A private service for Linda R. (Marvin) Malleis will be held at a later date.
Linda Rae Malleis, 78 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at her home in Holdrege. Linda was born on November 17, 1942 in Charles City, Iowa. Linda was the eldest of eleven children born to Leslie A. "Shorty" and Leola (Bahlman) Marvin. She received her primary education in Long Pine, Nebraska, and Ainsworth, Nebraska, and continued her education in Salida, Colorado, where she then attended and graduated from High School with the class of 1960. Linda then pursued higher education from Arapahoe Community College.
Following her education, she began working in Buena Vista, Colorado and where she met her future husband, Eddie E. Malleis. In August of 1961, the couple married and were blessed with five children: Doug, Elaine, Kevin, Yvette, and Roger. The family made their home in Aurora, Colorado. Linda tended to her children and later began working for a non-profit organization that helped with developmentally challenged adults; she then became CEO of her own company, The Helping Hand. Linda, enjoyed the company of her family and friends, loved the outdoors, had a great love of animals, enjoyed her hobbies of painting, coloring, and playing games on her tablet.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Doug Malleis in April 2008; and Roger Malleis in April, 2018; three brothers: Kenneth Marvin; Butch Marvin; and Richard Marvin.
Linda leaves to celebrate her life, three children: Elaine Hancock and her husband, Kevin of Cornelius, Oregon; Kevin Malleis and his wife Jami, of Loveland, Colorado; and Yvette Read and her husband, Andrew of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five sisters: Betty Newton of Holdrege; Carol Snyder of Holdrege; Mary Bowman of Alma, Nebraska; Kathy Moreno of Belle Fourche, South Dakota; and Steph (Bill) Whitlow of Imperial, Nebraska; two brothers: Larry (Melodie) Marvin of Holdrege, Nebraska; and Lester Marvin of Kearney, Nebraska; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family is honoring her wish for cremation. Linda will be scattered amongst her sons.
A memorial has been established in Linda's honor and kindly suggested to a charity of your choice.
