Memorial Services for Linda M. Neubauer will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church in Alma, Nebraska with Pastor Paul Ferrarone officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Orleans Cemetery, Orleans, Nebraska.
Linda Mary Neubauer, 66 years of age, of Alma, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015 at the CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. Linda was born June 18, 1949 in Hastings, Nebraska the fourth of five children to Peter and Florence (McIntosh) Strobl. She grew up in Red Cloud, Fairfield and Clay Center, Nebraska, before moving to Orleans, Nebraska. She attended school and later graduated from Orleans High School with the class of 1968.
On June 14, 1968 Linda was united in marriage to Dennis Neubauer in Clay Center, at her sister's home. To this union three children were born: Denise Renee, Melissa Ann and Brian Dennis.
Linda was employed at the Good Samaritan Society Colonial Villa in Alma, Nebraska for 13 years as a nurse's aide and later worked as a maid at the Arrow Lodge Motel. She was also a cook at the Depot, the Flying H Lounge and Boomer's Dairy Barn.
Linda loved her family and being able to share things with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed working with people and especially loved to work with little children. Her cooking will be greatly missed but the family will be able to find any recipe in Linda's collection of cook books. She also collected lady bugs, Avon Cape Cod and Beanie Babies. Linda loved the great outdoors; working in her garden and with flowers, especially yellow roses.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Denise Renee in infancy; mother and father-in-law; nephew, Aaron Ford; niece, Laurel Neubauer; brothers-in-law, Richard Ham and Fred Neubauer; and cousin, Lloyd Mintzmeyer.
She leaves to celebrate her life; her husband, Dennis of Alma; children: Melissa Monahan and special friend, Jim Malone of Phillips, Nebraska and Brian Neubauer and his wife, Stacy, of Alma; six grandchildren: Tara and special friend, Anthony, Trent, Jamie, Linzie, Halee and Drew; two great-grandchildren: Breely and Macie; brother, Rod Strobl and his wife, Peggy of Clay Center; sisters: Sharlet Ham of Clay Center and Marcy Gieber and her husband, John of Odgen, Kansas; brothers-in-law: Larry Neubauer and his wife, Madolene of Bedford, Texas, Carl Neubauer of Omaha, Nebraska, Ford Neubauer of Huntley, Nebraska; sisters-in-law: Pat McShea of Orleans, Nebraska and Cheryl Michaels of Stamford, Nebraska; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family is honoring Linda's wish for cremation. There will be no visitation.
A memorial has been established in Linda's honor and kindly suggested to the American Heart Association.
