Linda Sue Stattler, 64 years of age, of rural Holdrege, died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 29, 2020, at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege.  Linda was born on March 19, 1956, at Red Oak, Iowa, the eldest of four children, born to Earl and Yvonne (Rudig) Richards.  Linda received her education from Griswold Community Schools in Griswold, Iowa.  She pursued higher education and received her Associates Degree as a Dental Assistant.

Linda was married to Dennis Fichter.  They were blessed with four children:  Lisa, Allison, Elizabeth, and Travis.  The family made their home in Iowa for many years.  The children and Linda then moved to Wilcox, Nebraska.  Linda was later united in marriage on July 9, 1997, to Tim Stattler, father of Trevor.  The family made their home near Holdrege, and Linda began working at Becton-Dickinson.  She would have retired this coming March with many years of service.

The couple enjoyed family gatherings, giving to others, motorcycle rides, and trips to the mountains.  Linda truly loved shopping and watching the calves run in the yard during calving season.

To say Linda enjoyed decorating for Christmas was an understatement.  The family joked to the fact that, Linda had a "mini-Walmart" in her basement, with the great number of Christmas decorations she collected and enjoyed displaying each year.  The day prior to her death, Linda and Tim were decorating the house for Christmas 2020.

Linda was a member of the New Life Assembly Church in Kearney, Nebraska.

Linda was preceded in death by:  her parents: Earl and Yvonne Richards; and a son, Travis Fichter in 2019.

She leaves to celebrate her life; her husband, Tim Stattler of rural Holdrege; her three daughters:  Lisa Clark and her husband, Dwayne of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Allison Schepker of Holdrege; and Liz Isaacson and her husband, Brian of Belleville, Kansas; a son, Trevor Stattler of Hastings, Nebraska; 13 grandchildren:  Blake, Brianna, Brendon, Darcy, Chaynce, Peyton, Addilynn, Nic, Clayton, Brecken, Kennison, Mason, and Cody; three great-grandchildren:  Chandler, Kendric, and Paisley; one sister, Susan Davis and her husband, Jeff of Odessa, Nebraska; two brothers, Mike Richards and his wife, Colleen of Elliott, Iowa; and Max Richards and his wife, Christy of Broken Bow, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Additionally, a Memorial Book Signing will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, for those unable to attend the Time of Sharing on Saturday.  Face coverings will be required for those entering the building.
