A Funeral Service for Linda L. Swenson will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastors Tim Swenson and Jeff Kimberly officiating. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Linda Lou Swenson, 74 years of age, of Holdrege, died, on September 25, 2021, at the Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Linda was born in Red Cloud, Nebraska on July 31, 1947, the fourth of eight children, born to Emil and Ada (Smith) Sidlo.  She received her education from Red Cloud, NE.

Following her education, Linda worked at Becton Dickinson in Holdrege as a machine operator and floater for 25 years until she finally retired to be able to enjoy life more, with all her friends and family.

On July 3, 1969, Linda was united in marriage to John Swenson in her parent's home in Kenesaw, Nebraska and to this union they had three children.  The couple made their home in Holdrege. Together they enjoyed spending time with family, and taking trips to the Casinos when health would allow them to.

Linda enjoyed being able to be a wife, mother and most of all Grandma & Great Grandma. She also enjoy crocheting with her girlfriends for many years and then teaching anyone else she could, scrapbooking, adult coloring, and of course playing the slots.

She was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, NE for many years.

Linda will be remembered for her love of her family, her amazing smile and laugh that was contagious and would light up everywhere she went. She will also be remember for always being willing to help everyone anytime she could, she was so giving and had a heart of gold.

Besides her parents, Linda was preceded in death by, her sister, Ann Blessin.

Linda is survived by her husband, John of Holdrege; children: Tim and his wife, Leah Swenson of Lander, Wyoming; Tammy DiFabritus of Cozad, Nebraska; Tracy Kimberly and her husband, Jeff of Superior, Nebraska; Grandchildren: Nick DiFabritus of Cozad; Alese Lane and her husband, Brad of Cincinnati, Ohio; Heidi Swenson of Casper, Wyoming; Courtnie and her husband, Patrick Stinson of Prairie Village, Kansas; Levi Swenson of Missoula, Montana; Daymian and his wife, Bailey Kimberly of Guide Rock, Nebraska; and Ty Swenson of Edmond, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren: Maverick & Jeremiah Kimberly; Jayden Stinson; and David Lane; brothers: Sonny and wife, Mary Jane Sidlo; Jerry and wife, Lori Sidlo; and Ron and wife, Cheryl Sidlo; sisters: Judy Coaly; Patty Shumate; Ramona Sidlo Andrew; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

A memorial has been established in Linda's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
