Lisa Overleese

Lisa Louise (Schippert) Overleese, 65, of Republican City, Nebraska, passed away on April 21, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.

Lisa was born on March 27, 1961, in Phillipsburg, Kansas, to James and Marjorie Schippert. She was baptized and confirmed in the United Methodist Church in Republican City, where her faith began and remained a quiet but steady part of her life. She was raised on a farm in Republican City, where she learned the value of hard work, resilience, and caring for others.

She graduated from Republican City High School and later earned her degree in respiratory therapy from the College of Saint Mary.

Lisa dedicated her career to helping others. She worked in a variety of hospital and healthcare settings before founding her own home medical supply business, We Care Home Care. Through her work, she served numerous nursing homes and private residents, building meaningful relationships with her patients. She was known for going above and beyond—often bending over backwards to ensure people received the care and attention they needed. To Lisa, it was never just business; it was personal.

In September 1979, Lisa married James Sindelar, and together they had four children, Angela, Samantha, Natalie, and James. Though their marriage later ended, they remained close friends. In July 2001, she married Thomas Overleese on a carousel at the Beaver City fair. In doing so, she gained two stepchildren and built a large and blended family she loved deeply.

Lisa was a woman of strong character. She was stubborn, resilient in the face of challenges, and deeply empathetic toward others. She loved camping, hosting memorable meals for her family, and cheering on Husker football. Her home was a place where people gathered, were fed well, and felt cared for.

Lisa is survived by her husband, Thomas Overleese; her children, Samantha Bradley (Jacob), Natalie Hein (Darren), and James Sindelar (Hannah); her stepchildren, Eric Overleese and Sheana Overleese; her brother, Dann Schippert (Matt Ely); her former husband, James Sindelar (Julie); and her beloved grandchildren: Karsten, Kaitlyn, Jaelyn, Anniston, and Jackson Bradley; Calvin, Kennedy, and Dakota Hein; and Tate and Hallie Sindelar.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Sindelar; her parents, James and Marjorie Schippert, and her parents-in-law, Robert and Darlene Overleese.
