Funeral Services for Lloyd W. Ebmeier will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at the Hope Lutheran Church in rural Gosper County, Nebraska with Reverend Tim Glendening officiating. Interment will be in the Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Gosper County.
Lloyd Walter William Ebmeier, 91 years of age, of Bertrand, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Bertrand Nursing Home. Lloyd was born October 2, 1924 on the family farm in Gosper County, southwest of Bertrand, the fifth of six children born to Herman H. and Ella M. (Bunsen) Ebmeier. He received his primary education from a rural school in Gosper County and then graduated from Bertrand High School with the class of 1942. Lloyd began farming with his family in Gosper County and continued his life-long passion of farming his entire life.
Lloyd was a devoted member of the Hope Lutheran Church, where he was baptized, confirmed, an usher and served on the church council in his earlier years. Throughout the years he enjoyed being involved in activities with his many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his three brothers: Richard as a child, Marvin Ebmeier and his wife, Ethel and Roger Ebmeier; one sister, Dorothea Kampfe and her husband, Reuben and brother-in-law, Roger Forsberg; and a nephew, Larry Ebmeier.
Lloyd is survived by his one sister, Vida Forsberg of Hastings, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Shirley Ebmeier of rural Bertrand; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held prior to the services at the church.
A memorial has been established in Lloyd's honor and will be designated at a later date.
