Memorial Services for Lloyd D. Percival will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Oxford, Nebraska with Reverend Wes Hafner officiating. Inurnment will be held in the Oxford Cemetery at a later date.
Lloyd D. Percival, 82 years of age of Oxford, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016 at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. He was born on January 28, 1934 at Oxford to Thomas Wilson and Mary (Collin) Percival. He attended school at Oxford graduating from Oxford High School with the class of 1951.
Lloyd was inducted into the United States Army, serving for 6 years. He was honorably discharged on August 20, 1962.
Lloyd enjoyed farming and raising calves and resided for 55 years on a farm.
On May 23, 1953, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Mann and to this union two children were born: Dale Eugene and Donna Jean. The family made their home in Oxford. Kathleen preceded him in death.
On September 3, 1988, he was united in marriage to Janet (Liljehorn) Hilker and her two children, Dawn and Andrea joined the family.
Lloyd was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, serving on many boards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws and first wife, Kathleen.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Janet of Oxford; two children: Dale Percival of Omaha, Nebraska and Donna Kirsch and her husband, Jim of Richfield, Wisconsin; two step-children: Dawn Hilker of Grand Island, Nebraska and Andrea Hochstein and her husband, Frank of Hardington, Nebraska; grandchildren: James Percival, Justin Percival, Katie Kirsch, Olivia Kirsch, Ceila Rose Kirsch, Grayden Hochstein and Quinn Hochstein; sisters-in-law, Judy Benson and her husband, Charles of Sumner, Nebraska and Barbara Olson of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother-in-law, James Liljehorn and his wife, Sharon of Kearney, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
There will be no visitation as the family has chosen cremation.
A memorial has been established in Lloyd's honor and will be designated at a later date.
