Memorial Services for Lois C. Peterson will be conducted from the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege, Nebraska on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Murray Jones, officiating. Inurnment will be in the Salem Cemetery in Kearney County, Nebraska.

Lois Cleora Peterson, 81 years of age, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. She was born September 4, 1926 at Holdrege, Nebraska, the eldest of three daughters of Lloyd and Cleora (Falk) Peterson. The family made their home in Holdrege. She was baptized at the Trinity Evangelical Free Church, where she was a lifelong member and taught Sunday school for many years. Lois received her education from Holdrege, graduating from Holdrege High School with the class of 1945.

During her high school years, she worked at Nelson's Photography. Lois would continue as a Photography Clerk her entire career. She was employed by Al Achterberg Photography until his retirement and later in years worked for Dan Christensen Photography until her retirement due to her failing health.

Lois loved to travel and enjoyed her skill of photography on her trips, she also enjoyed tending to her garden and had a special place in her heart for animals.

She leaves to mourn her passing her two sisters: Betty Raymond of Funk, Nebraska and ReNee Peterson of Holdrege; one niece, Sandy Rittgers and her husband, Lee of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two nephews: Scott Raymond of Funk and Steve Raymond and his wife, Denise of Sidney, Nebraska; three great-nephews: Robbie Helzer, Andrew Helzer and Paul Raymond and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Bert Raymond.

There will be no visitation, the family is honoring her wish for cremation.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
