Lois I Robinson

Funeral Services for Lois I. Robinson will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the North Park Assembly of God Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Brian Steinbach officiating.  Interment will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Lois Ida Robinson, 98 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege.  Lois was born May 27, 1917 on the family farm north of Holdrege in Phelps County, Nebraska, the eldest of four children born to Harold A. and Ruth Alice (Jones) Robinson.  Lois received her education from Holdrege Public Schools.

Following her education, Lois' caring heart led her to a career as a caregiver.  Her devotion to others began by caring for a family and two children for several years.  She was then employed by Holdrege Laundry for twelve years and then spent many years working between the Valene Nursing Home and Christian Homes.  Lois also provided loving care to her parents in their family home during the last years of their lives.

Lois volunteered endless hours to her community, and in 1975 the Holdrege Laymen presented her with a special award, honoring her for her services to those in need.  During her retirement years, Lois enjoyed writing the Christian Homes news article for the Holdrege Daily Citizen for many years.

Lois accepted the Lord as her savior during her youth and remained a faithful member of the North Park Assembly of God Church, where she taught Sunday school.  Lois also enjoyed embroidery, loved to read and enjoyed tending to her garden for several years as a hobby.

Besides her parents, Lois was preceded in death by one brother, Hugh Robinson and his wife, Doris and one sister, Ruth E. Taylor and her husband, Bill.

Lois leaves to mourn her passing; her sister, Dorothea "Dot" Robinson and her husband, Dean Robinson of Holdrege; nieces and nephews who were very close to Lois:  Teri Saleski and her husband, Bob of Connecticut, Judy Piasecki and her husband, Roger of Kearney, Nebraska, Dennis Robinson and his wife, Donna of rural Holdrege; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, special friend, Jim Nagel of Arkansas, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

A memorial has been established in Lois' honor and kindly suggested to the Christian Homes Care Community.
