Funeral Services for Louise I. Cooper will be conducted from the First Baptist Church of Oxford, Nebraska on Friday, July 6, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Ken Breinig, officiating. Interment will be in the Oxford Cemetery at Oxford.

Louise I. Cooper, 70 years of age, of Oxford, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege. Louise was born April 23, 1937, in Murphysboro, Illinois, the sixth of eight children of Richard David and Lillie Marie (Barnett) Harris. She graduated from high school in Wayne, Michigan in 1952 and later received her LPN credentials at Murphysboro, Illinois. Throughout the years, Louise was a LPN in Hospitals and Nursing Homes in Wayne, Michigan, Kimble, Nebraska and Illinois. While in Gillette, Wyoming she worked as a Security Guard for Pinkerton Security for several years. First and foremost in her life was caring for her family.

Following her education, Louise was united in marriage to Joe Brant and to this union six children were born: Joe, Debra, Keith, Vicky and twins, Larry and Terry who died in infancy. Louise later was united in marriage to Melvin Bunce and to this union five children were born: Melvin, Clayton, Rick, Shally and Cindy. Following the death of husband, Melvin, Louise met and married Joe Luthe and daughter, Lisia was born. While living in Gillette, Wyoming she met Glen William Ford and on April 23, 1990 she was united in marriage to Glen. The couple relocated to Oxford in the summer of 1994. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen on February 1, 1999. On November 19, 2000, she was untied in marriage to Bob G. Cooper and the couple made their home in Buffalo, Wyoming and later returned to Oxford. Louise enjoyed cooking, sewing, decorating cakes, and babysitting. She especially loved spending time with her family.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Bob of Oxford; four sons: Joe Brant and wife, Angie of Gladwin, Michigan, Keith Brant of Gillette, Wyoming, Melvin Bunce and his wife, Barbara of Oxford; Rick Bunce and wife, Gail of Gillette, Wyoming; four daughters: Debra Melvin and husband, Mark of Holdrege, Vicki Melvin and husband, Chris of Holdrege, Cindy Graham and husband, Bill of Gillette, Wyoming and Lisia Shepherd and husband, Larry of Cheyenne, Wyoming; numerous step-children; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Becky Lee and husband, Sherman of Gladwin, Michigan; three brothers: Ray Harris of Weberville, Michigan, Kenneth Harris of Grant City, Illinois and Wayne Harris and his wife, JoAnn of Oxford, Nebraska. Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; twins, Larry and Terry in infancy; daughter, Shally Bunce; son, Clayton Bunce; and three brothers: David, Bill and Johnnie Harris.

Mrs. Cooper will lie in state at the Mitchell-Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Oxford on Thursday, July 5, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
