Celebration of Life Memorial Services for Louise D. Overmiller will be held on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Franklin, Nebraska. There will be a second, Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Thursday evening, January 5, 2017 at the House of Prayer in San Antonio, Texas.
Louise Dinoria Overmiller, 74 years of age, of San Antonio, Texas, formerly of the Franklin County, Nebraska area, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in Alma, Nebraska. Louise was born November 17, 1942, at Blanchard, Michigan, the eldest of two children born to Glen and Mary (Fegter) Scott. She received her primary education from Macon Public Schools and Bloomington High School, graduating with the class of 1960.
On December 31, 1961 she was united in marriage to Gary Overmiller at the Lutheran Church in Franklin, Nebraska. To this union one son, Kerry was born in Smith Center, Kansas. The family lived many places, as Gary was transferred and assigned to La Mesa, California, Kingsville, Texas, Norfolk, Virginia and Naples, Italy. They later divorced and Louise returned to Smith Center.
Louise attended Cloud County College in Kansas and received her Nursing Degree. She then moved to Kearney, Nebraska and worked at Good Samaritan Hospital as a Nurse. In the 1990's, Louise moved to San Antonio, to be near her family. She worked for many years as a Labor and Delivery Nurse for the Methodist Hospital Systems.
Louise enjoyed her Bible Study and Book groups, praying for others, spending time with her grandkids and was an avid reader, with a large collection of books. She attended the Bandera Road Community Church in San Antonio.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves to celebrate her life; her son: Kerry Overmiller and his wife, Diane of Elkhart, Kansas; three grandchildren: Justin Overmiller of San Antonio, Andrew Overmiller of Brownwood, Texas and Hannah Overmiller of Elkhart; brothers; Carl Scott and his wife, Karen of Lincoln, Kansas and Jim Loschen of Bloomington, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
There will be no Visitation or Memorial Book Signing the family is honoring her wish for cremation.
A memorial has been established in Louise's honor and will be designated at a later date.
