Funeral Services for Lucille V. Holscher will be held on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska with Pastor Ron Kuehner officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege.

Lucille Violet Holscher, age 84, of Holdrege, Nebraska, passed away on May 23, 2011 at the Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege. Lucille was born on August 1, 1926 the second of two children born to Paul and Almida (Peterson) Moline. She received her education in Holdrege graduating with the Holdrege High School class of 1943.

On March 21, 1946 she was united in marriage to Harlan M. Holscher in Holdrege and to this union two children were born: Phyllis and Kenneth.

Lucille enjoyed her life as a farm wife, mother, homemaking and gardening. After retiring from farming with her husband, Harlan, she worked at Christian Homes. She loved music and her crossword puzzles. Lucille was active in American Legion Auxiliary, LWML and Senior Citizens Center. She was a member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege.

She will be remembered for her cheerful demeanor, gentle spirit and generous loving heart.

Besides her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie Lindquist.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Harlan; two children: Kenneth Holscher and his wife, Diane of Ames, Iowa, Phyllis Johnson and her husband, Jay of Kearney, Nebraska; three grandchildren: John Holscher of Clarksville, Tennessee, Asheley McVey and her husband, Paul of O'Fallon, Missouri, Chris Johnson and his wife, Renee of Omaha, Nebraska; two great-grandchildren: Connor and Katie McVey; brother-in-law, Detlove Linquist of South Dakota, sister-in-law, Celeste Cox, Neva Danielson, and brother-in-law, Robert Brell and three step great-grandchildren: Ali, Katie and Josh; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family greeting from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

A memorial has been established in her name and kindly suggested to Donor's Choice.
