Visitation for Lucinda L. "Cindy" Roise will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska.
Lucinda Lee "Cindy" Roise, 68 years of age, of Kenesaw, Nebraska, (formerly of Axtell and Holdrege) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Premier Estates in Kenesaw. Lucinda was born November 20, 1946 in Lewiston, Idaho, the only child born to Elmer and Leola (Stephenson) Roise.
The family resided in Lewiston, where Cindy attended school, enjoyed being a Majorette in the band and twirled the baton. On July 15, 1965 her father preceded her in death. In 1974, Cindy and her mother moved to Axtell, Nebraska, so she could be part of the Bethphage Mission family. She lived in Home Sarepta within the Bethphage Village in Axtell until moving to Holdrege in 1989. While in Holdrege, Cindy resided at the Brown House, which was part of the Bethphage Mission group home care. In 2000, Cindy was the first resident of Mosaic to pilot into the host home program. She resided with her host family, the Marion Campana family for almost 15 years.
While living with her host family, she enjoyed traveling on vacations, eating out, movies, and was honored to be an Honorary Bridesmaid in two Campana family weddings. She also enjoyed a can of pop, and a cup of coffee with Nonna Gianna, who was her adopted grandmother. Her smile was infectious and will be remembered by all who knew her.
Due to her health declining, Cindy began to make her home at Premier Estates in Kenesaw in June of 2015.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Cindy leaves to celebrate her life; several cousins and her Mosaic family who loved her dearly.
Graveside services and interment will held next to her parents in the Normal Hill Cemetery in Lewiston, Idaho on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. (Pacific Time) with Pastor Scott Jurgens officiating.
A memorial has been established in Cindy's honor and kindly suggested to Mosaic of Holdrege.
