Memorial Services for Lynda D. (Zade) Larsen will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Prayer Baptist Church in Orleans, Nebraska with Pastor Michael David officiating. Private family inurnment will be held at the Orleans Cemetery.
Lynda Darlene (Zade) Larsen, 59 years of age, of Orleans, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012, at her home following a brief battle with cancer. Lynda was born on May 3, 1953 in Alma, Nebraska to Lester and Violet (Mays) Zade. Lynda spent most of her life in Orleans with exception of a few years when the family moved to Oregon from 1960 until 1963. She received her primary education in Oregon and in 1963 returned to Orleans.
On July 10, 1970, Lynda was united in marriage to John A. Larsen and to this union one son was born, John Larsen, Jr. Lynda married Randy Barnes on February 16, 1987, the couple made their home in Aurora, Nebraska. They enjoyed traveling the 48 states while owning and operating a trucking business. Lynda moved back to Orleans in 2003, where she enjoyed the benefits of home-ownership. Despite her failing health, she enjoyed spending time decorating her home, growing flowers, and making homemade hand soap.
Lynda was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, John Larsen, Jr.; and a brother, Wally Zade.
She leaves to mourn her passing; her three sisters and brothers-in-law: Wyona Koehler and her husband, David of Las Vegas, Nevada, Pat Pohl and her husband, Jerry of Aurora, Nebraska, and Marilyn Cuba and her husband, Junior of Glenvil, Nebraska; one brother, Wayne "Zip" Zade of Orleans; four grandchildren: Jaime Hyde and her husband, Chris and Derek, Mariah, and Ryan Larsen all of Aurora; sister-in-law, Linda Zade of Stromsberg, Nebraska; special friend, Wayne Harrison of Orleans; and a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Memorials are kindly suggested to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or can be directed to the family.
There will be no visitation as Lynda's family is honoring her wish for cremation.
